Diesel vs. gaseous-fueled generators each offer advantages to consider when designing a standby power solution. The most noticeable advantage of a gaseous-fueled generator is the extended run time provided by a continuous supply of natural gas. The natural gas infrastructure has shown itself to be extremely reliable in situations that cause power outages; through four Florida hurricanes in 2004 and the Northeast grid failure of 2003, the natural gas supply was unaffected.
